Graduation

Great things will occur in this building today

Today I graduate from the Graduate school of the University of Minnesota with an advanced practice degree in Psychiatric/Mental health nursing.

This is excillerating and scary at the same time.

My main goal for my first year of practice is not to seriously harm anybody.

I will wait until my second year of practice to start changing the whole treatment paradigm of psychiatry... ;)

Congratulations Gisli. You are one of many who will graduate this spring from a psychiatric/mental health advanced nursing program. We welcome you into our community of APNs and know that you will provide the very best care to those resilient and brave individuals who struggle to live with psychiatric illnesses. Thank you for working against the stigma of mental illness and those who care for people with emotional disorders. Those of us who are faculty and preceptors of this new generation of psych APNs, though the numbers may be few, are grateful for your colleagueships and know that you all will do great and wonderful things. Thank you too for the blog.
